Disable Virtualization-Based Security
Virtualization-based Security, also called VBS, must be disabled. In some PCs, VBS can be disabled directly from Windows or the BIOS. In other PCs, you must disable virtualization completely.
Method 1: Run DisableFeatures
Run the file below as administrator and restart your PC. Afterwards, check msinfo32 to see if Virtualization-based security was disabled.
The file may appear in your browser as text. Right click and “Save As”, then save it with the extension .bat.
Method 2: Disable VBS From Windows
- Open the Start menu and search for Core isolation.
- Open Core isolation.
- Turn Memory integrity off.
- Restart your PC.

Win + R, typemsinfo32, and press Enter. - Confirm that Virtualization-based security is disabled.
If Virtualization-based security is still running, continue with the BIOS method below.
Method 3: Disable VBS From BIOS
Use this method if Windows does not show the option, the option is locked, or msinfo32 still shows Virtualization-based security as running after restart.
- Restart your PC and enter the BIOS.
- Navigate through the sections below depending on your motherboard. The exact location varies by manufacturer.
- Disable the relevant option and save the changes.
Look for any of the following options:

If your BIOS has a specific VBS or Virtualization Based Security option, disable that first. If not, disable all virtualization-related options available on your system (VT-x, VT-d on Intel — SVM, IOMMU on AMD).
If you cannot find any of these options, search for your motherboard or laptop model followed by disable VBS or disable virtualization.
Verify
Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and confirm that Virtualization-based security is disabled.
